TURKEY ARMENIAN MINORITY SCHOOLS TEACHERS ASSISTANCE FOUNDATION

The decision to establish a foundation was made at the general assembly of the Turkish Armenian Teachers’ Mutual Aid Association on July 6, 1963. It was officially established when the Istanbul 3rd Civil Court of First Instance approved the statute on April 22, 1965.

The foundation’s areas of activity are divided into three:

A. Education:
It provides scholarships to train university graduate teachers and also to young people who are generally continuing their higher, secondary and primary school education. It organizes educational seminars.

B. Printing-Publishing:
It provides the textbooks and CDs needed for our schools. It has published a monthly children’s magazine, “Jbid“, since 1991. It has also published collections related to our literature and a desk calendar since its foundation.

C. Social:
It helps retired teachers who are in financial difficulties, provides them with summer vacations and helps them solve their health problems.

Its sources of income are rent payments, donations and interest received from properties donated by benefactors.
