Surp Santuht Church was built in the late 18th century. The wooden church fell into ruin over time and was renovated in 1816. The church was demolished the same year, and its trustee, Janig Amira, was exiled and the administrators of the time were sentenced to hard labor. Later, rebuilt in 1856 according to Janig Amira’s will, the church burned to ashes in 1972. Through the efforts of Patriarch Shinorhk, it underwent temporary repairs and continued worship. In 1978, the final construction was completed and reopened by Patriarch Shinorhk.
With the support of philanthropists, the church underwent another repair in 2003 and was consecrated by Archbishop Aram Ateshian. The final restoration was completed in 2012 and consecrated by Bishop Sahak Mashaliyan.
